Warm – and Welcome – Words of Support
We all need them, don’t we? This past Sunday evening I got an email from Maureen Lomasney, of Funeria, congratulating us on our first year in existence – and our decision to more fully embrace the many roles which women play in funeral service. Here’s what she wrote…
“Congratulations on your first anniversary. You have been working diligently and with great heart to create a new venue and opportunity for women who are in funeral service, or are otherwise dedicated to honor and celebrate those we’ve loved at the end of their lives, to share a journey of discovery and adventure as the world continues to change…. as women change the world.
“As a woman-owned business, and sole proprietor of an LLC at that, now in its 10th year, I know the pioneering experience intimately. I know the depth of faith that is required to demonstrate a vision that you hope others will want to embrace as well. It is enormously challenging, takes grit and persistence, yet holds the promise of effecting much needed change. Thank you for championing and supporting the role of women in an industry that can only benefit by their greater involvement at all levels. Warm regards, Maureen”
Thanks, Maureen! I’ve printed out your email, and put it on my office wall, as a reminder of the importance of our work!
For those of you who aren’t familiar with her company, Funeria, check out their website. Phenomenal! “Unique artist-made cremation urns, original handmade keepsakes, and beautiful funerary art.” No truer words were ever spoken.
