My Book Recommendation Stands
This final paragraph is amazing…”As I conclude this tour, my mother is in treatment. She is fighting with the same ferocity which which she loves us, and we are hoarse with cheering. Searching for the fun in funerals, I found the if in life. The people I met along the way who had lost loved ones knew of the if. But in the passionate and disparate ways they memorialized their dead, I saw that Euripides was right: Never that which is shall die. If — when — I lose someone I love, I hope I can remember that.” ~ Lisa Takeuchi Cullen, Remember Me: A Lively Tour of the New American Way of Death

I just recommended the same book on Twitter today!! I’m posting now to second that suggestion. It’s a great read – and one that influenced my decision to launch Shine On Brightly!
The book really made me laugh in so many spots – and yet also made me cry in other spots. It was a nicely balanced look at funeral service in the U.S. today – it’s one of those I wish I had written!
