Our First Advisory Board Meeting
August 8, 2009
Well, it’s history: we had our first meeting on Friday, 8.7.09 and I was delighted to have time with these amazing women. Our meeting was three members shy of a full board – but our conversation was animated, and insightful. What did I learn?
That 2 teleseminars per month is one too many.
That we wish to embrace, not exclude, the brilliance of men in the professional. Naturally, as men, they cannot become members, but they’ve got a lot of wisdom to share with us.
That we need more members and prospective members to take our survey, so we have a greater representation of the issues faced by women in the field.
That we’re on the right path – the Association of Women Funeral Directors has a bright future!
Thank you to all the Advisory Board members who attended. And, for those who were unable to make it, expect a call from me to engage in a one-on-one conversation!
