Listen to Kat Reed Discuss “Begin Here”

Posted on: 05-11-2010 Posted in: Answers to Pithy Questions, Consumer Education, Marketing, Merchandise - Books, Publications, Woman-Owned Vendors and Entrepreneurs, Women Helping Women

I’m happy to announce that the podcast with Kat Reed, author of Begin Here: Helping Survivors Manage is now available to members, and non-members alike. I honestly want to share this volume with more than just the AWFD membership, because I believe this to be an affordable, and valuable way for funeral home owners and operators to stay “top-of-mind” with their client families.Reed_Front-Cover-thumb-150x150 It’s more of a “toolkit” than a book, although it certainly looks like a book. The May issue of Mortuary Management featured an AWFD column on the volume, which (I’m please to say) generated interest in her work. She’s got big plans too; expand the languages of the volumes; and reach into the field of digital property issues.  As Executive Director of the AWFD I look to support both women funeral service professionals, and those women who’s creative efforts bring more meaning and value to the services our directors perform for their client families.

Enjoy my conversation with Kat; she’s bright, engaging, and full of commitment. Just like you, and me. We all love the work we do, and choose to support one another in the day-to-day care of one another, and client families.
