Our Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 to encourage and support women who elect to make funeral service their career. We have established two levels of awards, and hope that you can donate to one, or both. All funds sent will be applied to the scholarships – no administrative fees will be applied.
Level 1 focuses on mortuary college students, both new and returning. The scholarship awarded will be based on academic merit (as evidenced by college or high school transcripts), as well as review of a personal mission statement submitted by the applicant.
Level 2 is designed to assist those women currently working in funeral service to enhance their professional knowledge through continuing education. Scholarships will be awarded to those women who have clearly demonstrated their commitment to the profession through exposition, and resume of experience.
Each year our goal is to provide as many $500 – $1,000 scholarships as donations to the Fund will allow.
Both corporate and individual donations are welcome. See below for further details on donation options.
Memorial Donations
Many who have endured the loss of a loved one wish to honor their memory by giving in their name. Memorial donations are accepted in any amount, on a one-time or recurring basis. Your loved one’s name will be listed on our In Memorium web page, with a picture and biographical details if you desire.
Send all related materials, with your donation, to me, at the address below.
Gratitude Donations
Many of our members speak warmly of those who mentored them into this profession – and they want to “pay it forward” through what we call a “Gratitude Donation.” Supporting another woman in funeral service in achieving excellence is an excellent way to show your appreciation for what kindness was shown to you. The AWFP will acknowledge your Gratitude Donation, and the individual in whose name it was made, on our Gratitude and Appreciations page.
Send your donation, and the name of the person you are grateful for (and if you’d like, a statement of what they brought to your life), to:

Corporate Donations
If you’re a business owner and would like to show your support for the women in funeral service (who will one day be the decision-makers), I’m encouraging you to join us in supporting this exceptional opportunity to strengthen the presence of women in funeral service. Your contribution will be the subject of a press release sent to the major trade journals – both online and print publications.
Send your donation, on corporate letterhead, with contact details and additional information needed for the press release, to:
