Words…Gotta Love ‘Em!

November 28, 2009

For women who enjoy words (and most I know DO!)… …the Washington Post’s Mensa Invitational once again invited readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are the wonderfully

The Newest Publication for Funeral Service: MBJ

November 24, 2009

MBJThe Memorial Business Journal, that is. It’s a weekly resource for funeral directors, cemeterians and cremationists. The editor is Edward J. Defort, who used to be one of “my” editors at Kates-Boylston when I had the honor of writing for their publications. I know the quality of his work firsthand, and that’s why I’m pleased to introduce you

November 23, 2009

Why the Lotus?

November 15, 2009

CB050983 Many women I’ve spoken with have asked me about the AWFD logo: “Is it a lotus flower?”…followed quickly by that one word question we hear from our children as they grow…”Why?” Here is my most elaborate answer: The lotus flower

November 11, 2009

Just had to ask that question on your behalf! I feel like a detective in one of the BBC mysteries I love to watch (is there anyone finer than Miss Marple?!) The November newsletter will be combined with December’s issue, only for expediency. There’s so much information

Back from FAMIC, and Wonderful Austin

November 9, 2009

I’ve got to tell you, Austin is a great city! I was so impressed by what I was able to see during my stay there last week. We were “smack downtown,” next to the convention center – which is slated to be the venue for the NFDA convention in 2013.
