FAMIC in Austin and Something More…
October 30, 2009
Many of you were, most likely, at the NFDA event in Boston this week; so I’m pretty confident you’re feeling the same somewhat disoriented way that I am as you return to work today. Even though I wasn’t in Boston, I’m feeling that this week just flew by. The weather has turned colder, so I’ve spent a lot of time bringing in firewood – and planning for my trip to Austin next week to meet with the members of FAMIC. I’m really excited to have this opportunity to represent the members of AWFD! Just a brief reminder: the association newsletter will not go out until the middle of November – so that I can report back on this trip. In the meantime, I wanted to share this with you. It’s an email I received recently, with the one word subject line: Perception.
Inspiring Words for Your Friday Morning
October 23, 2009
Every day, as I mentioned before (I think) I get inspiring emails from Neale Donald Walsch. Today’s was really nice, and I wanted to share it with my favorite women! You have only just begun to discover your magnificence. This period …
The Round Table on Marketing…a Report-Back
October 21, 2009
Well, it was an enjoyable conversation between me and Kimberly Baker, our Advisory Board member – not truly a ’round table’ at all! What was planned as a structured event turned into a dialog – where we touched on a myriad of topics related to marketing. One

Dreaming…Together!
October 19, 2009
One of my personal heroes is John Lennon. Granted, I was in love with him when I was 10 years old, and his musical/political career as a member of the Beatles and as a ’solo’ performer wove its way into the fabric of my early adulthood; but there’s more to
The Storm and Shine On Brightly
October 14, 2009
Well, we survived, and quite nicely – the worst storm since 1962 rolled through Santa Cruz County yesterday, dropping over 10 inches of rain! You can read more about it here: http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/ci_13557754. I had fully intended on writing a wonderful blog post on www.shineonbrightly.com. But, as I was without power for over 11 hours, it was simply impossible. So, stay tuned. I had a wonderful conversation with Adrienne Crowther, the President of this remarkable firm, on Monday of this week. She truly shines on brightly, and I suggest that if you’re going to be at the NFDA convention in Boston, stop in to see her at Booth #1314. In the meantime, take a
A Beautiful Blessing…
October 12, 2009
Good Morning, everyone; I sit here, long before the sun will rise, and think about our Association. How I can best serve our members; how I can energize, and enrich our lives. Then, I thought…a blessing might be nice; a spiritual way to start our week together.
The Survey Results are in….October’s Round Table will be on…
October 10, 2009
Despite a rather low survey “turn-out,” we’ve got a new day/time for our tele-events! Wednesdays, at 4:00 pm PT/7:00pm ET. So…that means….We’re going to have our Enlightenment Marketing Round Table event on: Wednesday, October 21st Time: 7:00 pm ET/ 6:00 pm CT/ 5:00 pm MT/ 4:00 pm PT I’ve been preparing like crazy and hope we can get a robust attendance.
Let’s Talk about Home Funerals!
October 6, 2009
I found this video on YouTube, and would love to start a conversation about the home funeral movement. As a Level 2 Home Funeral Guide (unseasoned), I support the choice – and know that it’s just a small percentage of families who would choose this route. BUT, it can bring
Austin…here I come!
October 6, 2009
I’m delighted to tell you all that I was invited to participate in the FAMIC conference, scheduled for November 4-6, 2009…in the wonderful city of Austin. Now, I’ve never been there, mind you; but I’ve heard really great things about it! If you don’t know what the
