We had a spectacular time!

September 24, 2009

I’m so sorry that more of you couldn’t be on the teleseminar with Brad, but let me say this…it was so fruitful! EFT is a remarkable tool – our impromptu tapping session, around the experience of “not being taken seriously,” lifted our spirits, reduced our stress level, and made us

Wise Words, on a Tuesday morning

September 22, 2009

“You block your dream when you allow your fear to grow bigger than your faith.”  ~Mary Manin Morrissey We’re all scared of something. As a single mom, making my way through the world and mentoring my sons…I fear failure. Not being able to pay the rent. Not mentoring my boys well enough. (My oldest turns 21 in less than two weeks – phenomenal!) Not

Member-Only Teleseminar on the 24th!

September 20, 2009

Circle this Thursday, the 24th, because this is the day Brad Yates will be joining us for our September teleseminar on using EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique. I’ve attached a PDF handout to acquaint you with the process and the concepts behind this amazingly easy way to shift your thinking and clear mental blocks. Brad says it so much more elegantly than I, in his analogy called… The Piano Principle “Imagine walking into someone’s home, and finding the living room dominated by a beautiful grand piano. You ask your hosts for a recital, to which they reply that they don’t play. As you run your hand over the sleek exterior of this magnificent instrument, you think to yourself,’What a shame…’ “I think human beings are like grand pianos – incredible creations capable of producing wonderful music. But too often that potential goes untapped. We think that greatness is meant for someone else, that we don’t have the talent  (the looks, the money, the time, the breaks…) And so we live lives ‘of quiet desperation,’ occasionally entertaining thoughts of ‘what if…?’ What if Mozart had hidden his talent? (Or Bowie, or, moving from music, Edison or Gandhi or anyone else who has made a positive difference.) You and I know how essential the work you do every day is to your client families…what if you could do that work in a state of greater alignment with your inner music? Think how much more joyous, more productive, more enriching each day would be?

September 16, 2009

The Advisory Board members and I have agreed that it’s time to lower the membership fees for the student/apprentice membership category.  After all, our goal is to reach more of these young women, to provide them with mentoring opportunities, but also to have their vivacious energy in the organization.

Developing a “Long-Term” Perspective

September 8, 2009

Every week I’m inspired by some of the best thinkers and achievers on the planet – via email! How cool is that?! This past week I got an email from Brian Tracy, and I’d like to share, and comment on the content of this email. In it he wrote… “The most successful people in any society are those who take the longest time period into consideration when making their day-to-day decisions. This insight comes from the pioneering work on upward financial mobility in America conducted by Dr. Edward Banfield of Harvard University in the late 1950′s and early 1960′s. After studying many of the factors that were thought to contribute to individual financial success over the course of a person’s lifetime, he concluded that there was one primary factor that took precedence over all the others. He called it time perspective.” Now, it gets really interesting… It seems that what Dr.  Banfield found was that the higher a person rises in any society, the longer the time perspective or time horizon of that person. People at the highest social and economic levels make decisions and sacrifices that may not pay off for

But I know that many of you will still be working over the weekend, as am I. Why such dedication? Because we believe in what we’re doing, and we know that what we’re doing is important in the lives (and deaths) of others. Somehow I’m reminded of
